Magazine Genre Research

For this blog it introduces what I have been learning in media studies. Our assignment is choosing four magazine genres of your liking, providing image examples and an explanation of why you chose that magazine genre. The four magazine genres that I have chosen are Food, Sports, Home and Garden, and Nature. 

FOOD

I chose this genre because food can be photographed in many colorful and entertaining way. Food expresses different cultures and what each culture eats. Lots of food images grabs peoples attention and reveal interesting stories. I feel like I can play around with it and make it look good and pretty in many different ways. So i think it's a great way of finding connections between food, media, and culture.

This magazine is from the food genre "Easy Food" the cover page includes many colors and an attracting, delicious piece. I believe the phrase "Family-Friendly meals" fits perfectly with the theme and the food because it looks like a very delicious and culture meal to enjoy a very friendly happy

talk.

SPORTS

I chose this genre because sports are a very inspirational thing. It shows a culture impact and personal journeys on athletes. I believe that just one picture can show how much a person trained to get to where they are. It shows hard work and to inform people about that sport. It can make people feel interested and enjoy the topic

I chose this magazine because it's a perfect example of hard work and inspirational cover. This cover shows how much strength and excitement they have. We see how much pressure both teams have on each other when one is about to score. The "SLAM" at the top really creates an exciting moment and make us want to go through the magazine and see what happens or learn more about the sport. 

HOME & GARDEN

I chose this genre because i feel like creating a home and garden magazine is a great way of inspiring readers with design trends and create ideas for their living space. I believe adding more plants to your house adds lots of colors to your life and embraces who you are. 

I believe this is a perfect example of what im looking for. It shows many natural colors in natural lighting space at home. It shows many plants and it feels like a very comfortable place to read, study or even relax. Their are many plants to also show a lovely reminder that it's a beautiful day to relax. 

NATURE

I chose this genre because it reminds people of what a beauty the natural world is. Also it reminds to protect and appreciate nature. I believe showing beautiful pictures like landscapes, wildlife, and plants would encourage readers to explore the outdoor. 

This is a very natural example of the world. I chose this because it really shows how green and big the plants and trees are. It shows a beautiful picture of the wildlife and water. I believe readers would love to see this in person to experiences how the air or nature would look like.
